ENVIRONMENT / HERITAGE / COMMUNICATION
Environmental information during construction.
London Gateway

THE CHALLENGE
Supporting construction in a sensitive setting.
The port development sits in an environmentally and archaeologically sensitive area. During construction, information about site activities, environmental conditions and remediation measures needs to remain geographically coherent and understandable.
MY CONTRIBUTION
Bringing environmental and archaeological information together.
My contribution focused on spatially organising existing and purpose-built data related to environmental and archaeological concerns during the construction phase. The aim was to provide a coherent information base for communicating activities and remediation measures to the population.
THE APPROACH
Connecting site activities with their territorial context.
A shared geospatial view brings together information that would otherwise remain in separate sources. Locating records in relation to the construction site helps explain where activities take place and how relevant measures relate to the surrounding area.
PURPOSE & USE
An information base for public communication.
The work supported the organisation and presentation of construction-phase information, making site activities and remediation measures easier to communicate in their geographic context.
